The first phase of the Memorial Wall at the North Carolina Veterans Memorial will be eight feet tall and 99 feet long. It will be a beautifully designed brick wall with granite inserts. The names of veterans with their rank and any conflict in which they served will be permanently inscribed in this granite.

The sight of hundreds, and eventually thousands of names stretching across that granite will be a statement of service and sacrifice that cannot be ignored. Anyone who stands before this wall will be aware of the role that veterans have played in bequeathing our way of life to us. This will be the finest of tributes to our veterans. It will speak eloquently of the esteem in which North Carolina holds those who sacrificed for us.
